There are people, who's achievements and turbulent lives
as well as talents and personality
could fill many biographies. Mariusz Zaruski was undoubtedly one of
them.
He was a very unusual, talented and versatile man - he was a poet and a
writer, a painter, great mountaineer and a skier, great officers of the
Polish Legion, a sailor and a traveler, great organizer and marvelous
educator of young people.
He had two great passions: mountains and the sea.

Even brief biography of Mariusz Zaruski surprises us that despite so many
difficulties he succeeded to share so much of his wonderful personality with
other people and
that one man during his lifetime could participate in so many important events.

"When I finally arrive and saint Peter asks how to report me,
I will say:
I broke hasps of slavery with a hammer, I took Poles up the mountains and to
the sea to make them hard as granite and to make their souls as clean and
deep as the sea."
There is no better way to describe his life.
